Dear Webmaster,

I just came across your website today.  It is absolutely wonderful!!  I can't believe it, they way you say things, it sounds exactly like me talking.   I am a wife of a father who pays child support through the "Almighty Domestic Relations" of PA.  So, in a sense, I do pay child support, because what is being unfairly taken from my husband's pay is a large part of our family income.  I will tell my own story on your website. The purpose of this message it to let you know how wonderful your website is, and to ask a question that I hope you can answer for me.  I can't get any answers from anyone else.  I've been mistreated by the Domestic Relations, and ignored by any other official I emailed or faxed messages to. I did get a reply for the Chief of Staff from Senator Jane Earll's office. But the reply was only to explain to me that my husband should have thought twice before remarrying and have other children.

My question concerns how daycare costs are handled.  My husband's ex decided to send their son to a summer camp program to be cared for while she worked.  She demanded 50% of the cost.   My husband works third shift.  He works third in order to be able to care for out three children while I work.  This is a huge sacrifice, but we can't afford daycare.  Because he is available to watch his son, he told his ex that he would care for him instead of sending him to camp.  This would save both of them money, and it would be in the best interest of the child.  She decided she would rather not have his father care for, and signed him up and took him to camp instead.  Now she is demanding 50% of the costs, and threatening to have it taken from his pay if he doesn't pay within 3 weeks.  Can she do this even though one parent was available to care for the child?

If the courts will allow this, yes she can, it was done to me.  My ex claimed daycare expenses when I was available.  The courts would rather have the child in daycare so that they can take more money from your husband in the name of "child support collected"  IT MAKES THEM MONEY FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

Another question I can't seem to find answers on.  Does the Child Tax Credit and Child Care Tax Credit come in to play when daycare costs are involved?  Isn't half of the tax credits that the mother gets allowed to be deducted from what the father is required to pay?

Your husband PAYS and the ex gets to claim it on HER taxes.  YEP....that is how it works.

I would appreciate any answers you have.

You are doing many people a big service by having your website.  I hope your right in your prediction of things turning around.  It is time for fathers to fight.  Things are getting out of hand. More and more spouses of child support payers are also starting to get fed up.  Children of second marriages are begin treated like objects of irresponsible behavior.  My children are our gifts from God.  They were intended for us, and the government does not have the right to tell us any different.

Any questions?  Any complaints?
