My name is Melissa.

I also live in Pa.  My husband went to court this morning and the judge hung him.  He lost his job May of last year and couldn't find a job until Jan of this year.

When he divorced his ex wife 5 years ago, he was ordered to pay $1900 a month for child support and alimony.  The judge would NOT lower the amount of the arrearages for the 9 months he was not working, so we have to pay her $1900/month for those 9 months.

In Jan he went to her to try and work out a lower amount of support due to her moving to a job making 24 thousand more and he makes 20 thousand less at his new job.  He went to her to try and work it out to avoid lawyer fees on both sides.  She didn't want to take less money so therefore she refused it.

Now, the judge made him pay her $1200 every 2 weeks, and has 30 days to come up with $2700 to pay her lawyer fees.  He has until Dec 30th to come up with $15,000 to pay on his arrearages.  If he doesn't come up with it, he goes to jail for 6 months.

Speak of injustice; this case is certainly the case here and we have no idea what to do now.  If he goes to jail, I will loose my home and my three kids because I am unable to work due to medical conditions.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know.  If you want a partner in fighting the system, let me know.  I AM THERE.
