I no longer live in Pennsylvania. I live in Georgia. I am a non- custodial parent and I am being stiffed with high child support payments and my taxes are being withheld from me every year. I have begged and pleaded with the system to help me. I have been treated. I was evicted from my home because child support garnished my entire pay check in 2000. I am self employed because no one will hire me because of child support. I lost all of my important papers when I was evicted. It took some time to find another job, meantime the custodial parent told the system I have never paid child support. therefore, they added arrears on my account. In 2001 I got marry and it has caused us a lot of stress. We have to sacrifice food and other personal things to pay this support. The custodial parent refuses to let me visit child. Whenever I plead to the system they just tell me to pay the money. My wife and I have written so many letters begging them to lower the payments. We have explained about our two children at home. My wife had a miscarriage because she was constantly stressed by the child support issue.

I hope you get a chance to answer my email because I have been begging for 6 years straight for help. I only want it lowered so that me and my wife can function. Georgia courts said I need to talk to Pennsylvania court. Of course Pennsylvania says I need to talk to Georgia. My wife's family hired an attorney for $1,500.00 we still have to pay $425.00 a month. We were upset because the attorney didn't even try to fight for us. I think it is a shame that most custodial parents are using child support as a source of total support for themselves. This is like waiting on a welfare check. The strange thing about it is the custodial parent lives with her parents. She use to call me and thank me in a smart mouth way. She would say, "Thanks for my shopping money." Meantime, my wife and I barely had food.

What hurts the most is that my wife has a child through her first marriage and her ex refuses to pay child support. There have been some times that he paid in the past and my wife would pay my child support with it. This hurt me because it was for our child at home. My wife's income taxes have been sent to the custodial parent. Do I need to keep going? Please help us if you can. We have been praying that something happens to break this unfair war of child support.
