AM I GLAD I FOUND YOU!
Yes I am a Father living in the worst county in PA with regards to Fathers
rights, visitation and oh yeah custody of my children.
I am an artist by trade. A photographic portrait artist. I do not like all of
this fighting and dirty underhanded bullshit. I want to go on with my LIFE. I
left my ex in July. I was diagnosed with Cancer in Feb of 1999. What I have is
CLL (Chronic Lymphocitic Leukemia. I have not undergone any kind of treatment as
of yet. I am fine as far as my health.
This is the short of my problem. I am self employed. And right about now I
wish I worked for someone else! All I needed after domestic relations was a jar
of Vaseline. I am paying $700 month in Health Care (HealthGaurd) plus paying
$1400 per month in Alimony and Child support combined!
I left my wife in July of this year `01. I moved in with a friend, then
another friend till I could afford a place to live by November 1st `01. Now I
pay $780 per month rent. Are you beginning to see the problem. I reported
$24,000 income last year on my taxes.
My soon to be ex is in Nursing school to become an RN. She will graduate this
May, if all goes well. She doesn't seem to mind leaving my two children ages
12&10 at home or with a baby sitter when she feels like it. Hell, I had to
call two times a week last semester to wake up the children so they'd be ready
to go to school when I picked them up by 7:30am.
As soon as I could in November I filed for a better visitation such as week
on and week off. Well my attorney settled things with her attorney before it
went before the judge. Now all I am left with is every other weekend & Wednesday
evenings. And I get to drive them to school every morning.
January 5th I left for Dallas for a business conference. While I was in
Dallas my attorneys assistant called me wanting me to come into the office for a
meeting to discuss what was going on on January 11th. I replied to her, remember
I said I was going to be in Dallas Texas for the week and I would return on
Thursday early evening. She said "oh that's right" So we set up a
telephone interview from my hotel to my attorney, (name
omitted), in Lancaster. The first thing he said to me " you know, (name
omitted) this is going to be an up hill un-winnable battle." I
replied you know (name omitted).... just because I
stand up to pee doesn't make me any less of a parent capable of taking care of
my children.
So at the January 11th (my daughters birthday) was my time with the hearing
master councilor to work out some sort of additional visitation custody. The
best she would offer me was 1 additional evening. I replied that that was not
what I was asking for according to the mountain of paper work I completed. I
even asked if she had taken the time to read any of it!
My soon top be ex and I went back and forth. So the hearing master decided to
send us to court before the judge on April 4th 2002 at 10:00am.
