Dear sir:

My name is Phil. I live in the Erie, PA area. I really enjoyed your website :) Great address to the strangle-hold the PA judicial system has put on all us who are affected, mostly in the pocket, by the un-just guidelines... forced fed down our throats !!!

In short, here's my story... 15 years ago I married my ex-wife. She was/is a widow and @ the time we met, her daughter was only 3 years old. I adopted her daughter and after 6 months, our marriage was over due to my ex-wife's acts of adultery and prescription drug/alcohol abuse!

Her first husband was killed in a work related accident. She subsequently sued Dow Chemical and rightfully so. She received a large sum of money up front and receives monthly payments as well. Her daughter will receive $20,000 on her 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st birthdays. She'll receive her first payment in October of this year.

I pay around $400/month and have for the last 15 years! There are some close to me, that say... I was "set-up"! Well... in any case, the system has given my ex-wife all the tools to suck money out of my pockets. Like you, if it wasn't for my family... I might be living in the streets! I have a decent job, I work for the PA Dept. of Corrections. I recently re-married my dream partner... quite a special lady :) :) :) We want to buy our own home but the support payment is fouling my income to debt ratio! I have rented since my divorce & I own nothing... imagine that!

My ex-wife had 3 more children with some man who's been in/out for county jail... no doubt I've supported him throughout the years! They finally got married but the value system sure wasn't there for my adopted daughter. Her & I don't even communicate. Last year, she had a baby! No doubt the lack of a family value system in her home contributed to the chain of mistakes... a sad-sad-sad situation! I've footed the bill, my ex-wife hasn't worked in years... yet she drives a Mustang & owns a home with a in-ground swimming pool! Sometimes I wish I was the one with the vagina !!!

Ok, sorry to vent! ...but if you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Respectfully written, Phil

p.s. I wonder if I still have to wait till my adopted daughter graduates to terminate my support. She receives her first $20,000 in October '02, but doesn't graduate till June '03.
