Hello,
My name is Steve I have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with
the family courts in Erie, PA for the last 2 years. It starts with a phony
protection from abuse, where your spouse and her lawyer use it to gain unfair
advantage in the custody of the child. The pfa now places you in a catch 22
situation. You are told by lawyers you can't fight it because all your opponent
has to say is they "feel" threatened by you. I was coerced by my
lawyer to go along with the conditions, not the guilt (which I finally conceded
to so I could see my daughter after not seeing her for 10 days, another tool to
try to hurt you and try to alienate you from your very own child). Years later I
was to find out from more "experienced" lawyers that going along with
the conditions, not the guilt was seen by the court as "admitting
guilt".
Looking back I see my wife set me up, would provoke me over and over so that
she could use whatever action, no matter how benign, in court. It is quite
obvious that from the start she has been coached by a war mongering, money
hungry lawyer.
Besides the lies and indignities one has to face for trying to be a parent to
your own child, the wife will now find ways to make excuses for you not to see
the child. My spouse told me over and over she was going to make my life as
miserable as possible.
You go to court or mediation and you see how the courts will believe her lies
and punish you for them and treat you like a criminal. You spend more than you
have on lawyers, who take your money and do nothing or place you in a worse
situation (witness my first lawyer above, or maybe they just accept the
discrimination in the system, who knows?) to defend your and your child's rights
only to see preferential treatment and over and over her giving her story to the
court (filled with malice, exaggerations, exclusive, false and over litigious
statements) and when it is your turn to respond you are cut off and told
"they will make their decisions". You are yelled at by court
officials, she doesn't talk because she has her lawyer do all the talking. In
the mean time, your child is sequestered from you, the court gives her 70% and
you 30% time with the child.
I am Jewish and she has become some sort of "Jesus Freak" all the
sudden. My child will be inundated with her and her baby sitter's Christmas
environments and by societies inundation that no one can avoid.
I still cannot believe how our government, the very people who are there to
defend our rights would be the ones to violate them in a very deep, profound
hurtful way, through our children and by favoring one parent over another
(through a built in discrimination in our courts and society) and by denying
parents to see and bring up their children as they should. Instead the
government, through the family courts, encourage women to seek divorce, reap the
spoils, in my case I am left with noting and my wife is laughing all the way to
the bank, while she uses the child as a weapon.
Please help in any way you can. I have written to everyone one could think of
and the responses are something like "we can't help you, you will have to
work through the court system and get a lawyer",. I am left worse than
penniless by that very system so I can't afford a lawyer and the court system
from what I have seen is corrupt, so how can I work with that system to resolve
this problem. The problem is much more fundamental, constitutional, civil and
human rights are being violated and there are no checks and balances and no one
to help one correct these injustices.
The above is only the tip of the iceberg, we are also talking of set ups and
lies, provocations over and over, especially at the time of the pfa against me
where I thought at least my speaking out against the lies and provocations would
be listened to by the courts, nope, instead you are made to look like you are an
abuser and you realize you have no first amendment rights.
