Well, As a father I have dealt with many injustices in the system and could go on but I finally got settled with 50/50 custody joint legal custody and thought the troubles were over. I was shocked at the child support hearing. I received a document which is so blatantly biased soaking me for money. A. She and I have the same education and experience. She is refusing to work even though she has made as much as 40k a year in the past. They only imputed 15k for her. and my full 38k for me cause "I work" B. This just stunned me. I am referred to as the non-custodial parent and even though we have 50/50 they back out 30% of my time in the calculation so that I have to pay more. What the hell is that. That is way wrong. It is amazing. Is there anything I can do. Why am I referred to as a non-custodial parent because I make more money. I am not a non-custodial parent. They figure our joint child support at 1,399.00 we each should get half of that. I get only 20% because I "make more" Even if you kept the incomes but fixed the formula it would be better. If you are going to do it it should be pay by percent receive by actual percent. How can they get away with backing out 30% of my time in figuring who gets the money? Why do they not impute more income for her. I'd be in jail if I did not pay at my capacity. I am stunned. Is there anything to do! Thanks for any help Dave |
