O'Reilly,

I just watched you bulldoze the fathers' rights attorney who was just on your show. I don't know what your agenda is, but you need to check out reality. YES it is excessive that the man in question fathered 9 children and even I have a problem with that however, the attorney was trying to show that the government ordering any person not to have kids is unconstitutional. It wasn't about your moral beliefs or mine for that matter. Personally, I can't see how anyone can have 9 kids and still support them all equally both emotionally and financially, but that's beside the point.

The point is that in each and every state "child support" awards are EXCESSIVE and have absolutely no financial basis besides the huge award the mother usually gets for having custody. I PAY enough "child support" for the financial support of 3 children and I only have one. That means that my ex-wife is responsible for absolutely nothing financially and gets a nice bonus on top of that. I would have no problem paying what they like to call child support if it really represented my half of the child's necessary financial support. Even though it is ludicrous to have 9 kids from multiple women, it is even more ludicrous to expect the father to pay what probably amounts to 80% (estimating this from what normal fathers are ordered to PAY, I don't have actual figures) of his pay to all the mothers to use as they wish without accountability and still expect him to support himself. Keep in mind that this is an EXTREME situation and most fathers that are court ordered into slavery only have one or two children. That is what goes on in the real world.

The states are using astronomic child support awards and guaranteed mother custody (men generally make more money for them to take) to get as much in federal TANF block grants as they can even if it means major constitutional violations. These constitutional violations are an everyday occurrence in state family courts where due process and equal protection under the law does not seem to exist. If you are a father, even if you were never accused of abuse (which is commonly used as a tool all by itself) you are almost guaranteed to loose your children and most of your money. All of the states are getting away with type of thing and people like Robert Williams of Policy Studies INC. (who profits from arbitrarily high child support awards and should be criminally prosecuted) are making a ton of money in the process. Why don't you do a little research, learn the facts, and expose this? Fair and balanced? No spin?

I happened to be a good father to my son who wanted equal time but I was told by Pennsylvania Domestic Relations that I had to go through all sorts of evaluations (totally unnecessary, and an invasion of my privacy) when I was never accused of anything or my petition would be dismissed. These evaluations cost big bucks and my lawyer told me that I don't really have a chance at equal custody. I refused to pay all the unnecessary expenses to have my equal rights enforced. The whole purpose of these expenses, as I see it, is for the sole benefit of court appointed "professionals". I didn't have the money to pursue the issue and the court dismissed my petition, so I guess I loose right? This type of thing is what all the fathers rights people are hollering about, not about the courts telling a man who has 9 kids not to have any more.

Please get to the real issue of equal treatment. I am loosing respect for you daily because of the way you bulldoze people that come on your show (especially on this topic) into speaking about what your agenda is when it isn't even the real issue. The attorney tried to get this out but you wouldn't let him. Did you ever have your kids taken from you O'Reilly? Were you ever "ordered" to pay half your paycheck supposedly for "child support"? It's the same thing as if you were ORDERED to pay $200,000 for a $30,000 car. Would you pay it willingly?

Sincerely,

Dave Vincent
